I'll be in St Louis in a couple of weeks for the Yankee Cardinals series and I would love it anyone could recommend
their favorite place to eat and things to photograph besides the Arch.

Thnxs...

There are some good Italian restaurants downtown, very close to the stadium. Can't remember the names right now.

The Eads bridge across the Mississippi makes a nice shot, although getting a good spot could be tough. If you can up to Alton, IL there's a beautiful bridge across the Mississippi called the Clark Bridge.

Shoot the city skyline from the other side of the river. Again, finding the right spot might be tough, but the Casino Queen parking lot might be a good place to park.

There's a club in Sauget called the Diamond Ca.... no wait, that's not the kind of pic you wanted, right?

The old courthouse beside the Arch has history, site of the Dred Scott case.
    Sid.

I'm In the St. Louis area, and have lived in the city for 14 years. Forget the downtown Italian food. Go to the Hill. I'll Get you the addresses etc.
There are several close photo ops. One is of course Laclede'S landing then the Soulard Market area. Still a farmers market. Too bad you are coming in a few weels, the Renaissance Fair ends next week. Great place to be with a camera. I have posted some photos on Smugmug ( ka0tvo.smugmug.com ).Not the best and no photoshop yet. There is a link to kc7dji who lives near me. We both spent the day there today. His photos are very good ,worked up on pw.
I'll get you some addresses etc. Glad to help and let me know your schedule. School is out next week.

Shoot from the Casino parking lot? I tried that but got lost. I did find a place open in the
levy and got this in the rain.

The local news photogs know a place along the levee that's further left, the Arch nicely frames downtown. I just never went there myself, so I can't give directions, I'm afraid.

If you walk west down Market Street from the Arch you'll have a great view of the old Courthouse, and eventually Union Station. Lots of picture opportunities along that boulevard. Forest Park is home to a fantastic art gallery and one of the best zoos in the country. The Science Center is just across the highway from Forest Park and you can get there by a covered walkway over the highway.

Head south on Hampton from Forest Park and you end up on the Hill. I prefer Cunetto's for pasta. Downtown the Broadway Oyster Bar and Grill, just south of the Stadium is the place to hang out after the game (don't wear your Yankee hat). While here make sure you try toasted ravioli, Imo's pizza (get the Deluxe) and Ted Drewe's frozen custard, all are St. Louis originals.
