I also like #1 better.

If the sleeping baby had been more dominant in #2, I might would have chosen that one.

I definitely see that #1 is a cleaner image.

I loved the baby's serene face in the midst of the subway chaos so much I just had to try a shot. I just couldn't get an angle that featured the baby's face and still get some context. I have never before shot pictures of strangers on the subway. Usually, you don't even look at another person on the train, much less photograph them.
