Has anyone had any luck advertising in the Yellow Pages?

I have a sales person really pressuring me, but I think it's too expensive and misses my target demographic. Has anyone had any experience (good or bad) with Yellow Page listings or ads?

20 something years ago I did yellow pages and all I felt I got from it was a much higher monthly phone bill......99% of my work at that time came from referals and from contracting thru other studios.......if I could afford a full page ad in the front of the Photographers section....then it might be worth it.......or it could scare prospects off knowing that those whole page ads are extremly expensive and that would make my services over inflated prices wise.......
it is kind of a catch 22..........................
