Black ants

Small black ants (Lasius niger) on an old stone sink planter in the garden. I baited some with some spots of honey, in the meantime another one was wrestling with a dead fly. The ants are about 3mm body length

    Cool to see those little buggers up close. Are those the same black ants in the states?
