Hello fellow Grinners,

We've had some funky weather here in Illinois the last couple of days. I got this shot of the Sears Tower this afternoon.

C&C on both the composition and post processing would be very helpful and greatly appreciated.

Thanks for looking!

Hmmm.. I like the composition and grayscale of the city especially with the fog shrouding the buildings but I'm not a fan of the forground buildings, I think it would be a stronger image to just see the highrises.

So you are thinking of something more like this?

Or does it need to be cropped even more to get rid of the tree tops and power lines?

Thanks for the comment, Frag Master!

Always good to see more photos from Chicago.

    Yay for my hometown area.

Wow, great catch! I like the cold, bluish processing of this scene. It looks like the Sears tower is wearing a scarf.

This is pretty cool. I really like your treatment.
I have a different suggestion for you to try out though. I personally think it would look much better if you just cropped some off the top of the first one, leaving almost no space above the antennas. You clearly weren't in the right spot for a skyscraper-only shot and I don't think cropping out the foreground can really fix that. It only throws the balance of the image off.
