Any experiences with the Phottix Plato remote?

Found some reviews of the Phottix Cleon C8 for the Canon xxD series that sound pretty good. Found a newer version called the Phottix Plato C8 that uses a different spectrum, batteries (AAA) and can use the transmitter as wired/wireless. It costs $45 vs the $30 for the Cleon.
Just wondering if anyone has experience with the newer version.

    I moved this to Accessories, but I don't have any experience with the remote, either version.
