I had an opportunity to drive Hwy 233 in the foothills east of Arvin, CA on Sunday and enjoyed a nice display of
spring wildflower color, most notably the California state flower, the California Poppy.

I went to the Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve (near Lancaster) a week earlier and came back with images of mostly brown hills.:cry Looks like I didn't go far enough north.

Nice!!! Beautiful colors and it's great to see spring here on Dgrin at last.

I would very much like to just sit for a while and watch the poppies bob in the wind. thumb.gif

Those are beautiful! Spring can't come quick enough for me, probably 3-4 more weeks before we start getting some decent spring flowers up in Seattle.

The Antellop Valley is suppose to be at it's bloom during mid April.
The LAShooters are planning an outing there on the 18th of April.

So many poppies. So beautiful. I wonder when they will bloom in Northern California.

Superb series--thanks for lighting up our days! We're waiting for the bluebonnets here but with so much drought they'll be scarce.
