gels for 580EXII

If anyone uses gels with this flash, could you share what brand or type of gels you use. I don't think I'm searching properly for them cause I'm coming up empty handed. I'm looking to buy a basic set that's compatible with this flash.

If your flash is anything like the vivatar 285HV in size of the flash a couple of free swatch books from Rosco Gels would do the trick.......or Lee Filters both should be available from a local theatrical supply company.....................

I use the Phoxle Flashmatch gels. Its a great product. Easy storage, easy use/reuse, easy to get.

I've bought sheets (example) and cut them to fit. Then, I use a strip of celephane tape right across the gel (over the lens) and 1/2 inch down the sides of the flash to atttach. Works well, the tape comes off the flash and gel easily. Works.

As for what I have ... one sheet each of

Full density CTO
1/2 CTO
1/4 CTO

Same for "Plus Green" for matching flourscent light

Same for CTB - for shooting in the shade

Like I said, I have swatches cut from each of these, sized for the head of the flash and all stuffed into an envelope in my kit. When I need one, I pull it out, get some tape (also in my kit) and attach it to the head of the flash. Done.
