I have been trying to get close to this guy for a while. He was finally off his island.
Please vote for your favorite shot.:lynnma

Those are very nice shots of a beautiful duck, Chris.
I didn't know we had mandarin ducks in California.

Not native but there are some mostly domestic raised that are on the loose.
this one is on a local park pond and is very shy. He hangs out with his close relatives the woodducks. Have seen them in zoos and other such venues because of their beauty

All great, but 3 is my favorite. iloveyou.gifclap.gif 2 would be my fav, but his reflection is slightly clipped. These remind me of wood ducks.

Thanks for all the replies and feedback.
Sad thing after I got these captures when I was loading up my equipment, I took the camera off the tripod and put it away but drove off leaving my tripod behind the van.headscratch.gif Adding to my list off stupid photo incidents. Needless to say by the time I noticed it was too late when I finally was able to return. I am blaming it on Friday the 13th
