Bane of my existance

the 3/4 angle shot. When shooting racing I do a lot of head on shots, pans and 3/4 angles (car or bike was aimed at me but now is turning away).

Why oh why am I having so much trouble with this shot? I am constantly losing the front end or back end of the car to blur while keeping the middle or front in focus. Admittedly some of them look cool that way but it drives me bonkers. I have played with F/6.3 to F/13 and still have issues. Any help?

This may sound silly, but.... if the car was coming at you head-on and is now turning, are different parts of the vehicle moving away from you at different speeds, as the nose the car makes the turn? ne_nau.gif :hide
