Well, I managed to capture this little critter earlier today. After tiring itself out in a glass, I finally managed to get it to strike a pose.
Firstly, the size of this little monster was about a full length of 5mm and a head width of around 1mm so this gives you an idea of how small it is. I believe they grow to 10mm so this one is a small one.
Anyway, I was shooting in low light and doing my best
These were taken in a large mug. All with diffused flash from the 430 MkII
Focal Length: 105.0mm, Exposure Time: 0.0080 s (1/125)
Aperture: f/11.0, ISO equiv: 100
Focal Length: 105.0mm, Exposure Time: 0.017 s (1/60)
Aperture: f/4.5, ISO equiv: 800
This one was taken with the Nifty Fifty, held reversed over the front of the 105 Macro - Serious shallow DoF
Focal Length: 105.0mm, Exposure Time: 0.0080 s (1/125)
Aperture: f/11, ISO equiv: 100
For these ones, I let him roam around on a burgandy rug (looks different colour due to the flash)
Focal Length: 105.0mm, Exposure Time: 0.010 s (1/100)
Aperture: f/8.0, ISO equiv: 800
Please sir, can I have some more
Focal Length: 105.0mm, Exposure Time: 0.010 s (1/100)
Aperture: f/8.0, ISO equiv: 800
And again, with the 50mm lens reversed in front of the 105
Focal Length: 105.0mm, Exposure Time: 0.010 s (1/100)
Aperture: f/8.0, ISO equiv: 800

Only minor criticism is many of the shots are a bit centred- try giving the bug more room in the direction it's looking in the frame.

Yes, I have released it now. I kept it for a short while to do some more but don't have much time presently so I've let the little guy go. I'm sure I'll find more now

Congratulations on your first Jumping Spider
I think I have only managed to photograph two of these little guys,
they are just way too fast for me.
They look too cute when they appear to sit up and beg don't they
Brians already pointed out the centering, it's a hard habit to break.
Nice going .... Skippy

:skippy Everyone has the right to be stupid, but some people just abuse the privilege :dgrin
Thanks Skippy. yeah I'm guilty of the centering before as well but I was far too pleased about getting the shots to think of the overall presentation hehe... Must remember for future though
Ya know they do look cute. Puppy dog eyes huh? ))
