Hi you'll,

I've been real busy lately between my FIL's illness and visiting shooters coming to town (right now I have 7 visiting Nikonians I'm shooting with this week). I'm so far behind on my post work it ain't funny. Anyhow I got up to Merritt Island one day. The light was really bad but I got some interesting great egret shots (of course)

he was on the hunt
23456997-L.jpg

at one point some stilts "buzzed" him. He was not a happy camper
23456996-L.jpg

I caught him doing the "Reznick Flip"
23456992-L.jpg
then he was kind enough to do it again
23456998-L.jpg

Then this weekend I was in the wetlands and I captured this fella
23456988-L.jpg

I had and idea of his ID but I checked it out in Sibleys and it was a

JUVENILE BLACK CROWNED NIGHT HERON

:clap :rofl :lol3 :lynnma :bad

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

If he is a juvenile, they must have babies. Where does one look?

Good shots, love the egret photos for the reflections. They look a bit "smooth", are they kind of "white", or is it my eyes. I just got home, didn't want to, shouldn't have, but I am here looking.

Also love the fish he is playing with, is he not?

You have a juvenile night heron, I have older ones...........let's swap for a bit,rolleyes1.gif .

Bill wouldn't take me to see the egrets after the Memorial Day concert. He uses "dogs in crates guilt" on me. I am afraid they will be all gone.

Hope your fil is better. And that you enjoy yourself with your "visitors".

You have managed to hit most posts as the moderator et al. I was so excited about the Osprey. I know you and Andy have been snickering a bit that my shots might not be totally clear when it comes to the Ospreys, but that is tack sharp, and with a relationship, too. A bit strained it is.

Happy shooting! Let me know what is going on at the rookery, have the birds left home yet?

    Hey Ginger,

The shots are white. I'm not thrilled with them because I had to shooot at a higher ISO than I prefer and the light was not good. What I like about the shots are the actions captured.

He is playing with the fish , at least he is until he eats it. :D

Thanks for stopping by and I'm going to the rookery tomorrow. I'll bring back a fulll report and some pics

Great shots as always Harry. I have to ask though. I know your retired but have you thought of charging for your photography tours. I'm seeing a great idea for a side income here.

    Hey Steve,

The flips are due to the D2h. You have to fire off a series of shots to get it because it happens so fast you really don't see it.

    Thanks for the kind comments.
