Just wanting to share some shots from last weekend.

The male cyclist crashed in the Crit Race. Supposedly hit the back wheel of the cyclist in front of him & that caused a 4 man pileup. He skid across the pavement to the curb and lay unconscious for a while. The blood is coming from his ear, elbow and various other skinned body parts. It was a cool morning so his blood was on the pavement for a while. He went for a ride in the ambulance and is recovering safely at home.

1. Holding him still after he wakes up.

2. Applying pressure and keeping him calm. He didn't know what had happend. He thought a car hit him.

3. Paramedics getting him on to the back board.

The female cyclist ran into problems on this corner. She saw a car coming in the other direction (Course is not closed to traffic unfortunately) and panicked. She crossed the center line in front of the car (car was stopped by this time in order to not hit her), but there was no where for her to go except over the embankment. She cracked her headset, skinned herself up but continued to ride to the end of the Time Trial. She was a tough rider!

Cool series. Reminds me of my visit to the OR after a tumble down a mountain (at least by Austin standards).

It give me the heebie jeebies when I'm shooting a triathlon and see folks try to corner while still on the aero bars like that.

    Cheers
