#1 is some-kind-of-super-sharp!! I love the lighting. I just can't get over the razor sharp details on this....fantastic exposure. thumb.gif

Care to share the set-up information on this one?

#1 has the makings of a wonderful portrait. It looks like an old world oil painting. I don't care for the boys expression, but the lighting and mood you've captures are excellent.

Thanks for the comments :) The setup provided a bit of a challenge--either the boy or the dog were right but not both (don't you HATE it when that happens?) In the past I've been able to correct this with a bit o' photoshop magic...but in this case, I couldn't figure out what I could do (any suggestions? The challenge I think is to get the facial shape and shadows to shuck and jive with whatever might be done.)

    f/14
    1/250
    34MM (24-70MM)
    ISO 200

Camera exposure set at +1.0ev. 3 SB-900 setup (Commander flash did not fire). Remote #1 setup front and left of the boy (~9') with a -2.3ev adjustment (for light fill). Remote #2 set up right and front of the dog (~4') with a +1.7ev adjustment. Both remotes were firing through white umbrellas. Adjustments in exposure in Aperture 2 and light/dark adjustments in Photoshop.

    Does that help?

that 1st shot it truly good. thumb.gif

The skin processing in the other other shots are bit much for me. The last shot needs more balck tones on my monitor.
