What is vBulletin Message?

Occasionally, I click on a link in my Smugmug Support Update email such as http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=124639 and get a Digital Grin Photography Forum vBulletin Message window asking for a password? It doesn't accept my Digital Grin account password? What is this message for? Thanks.
