Yesterday's game had great late afternoon overcast light and I found a better place to shoot from (just to the right of the home team dugout, close to first base.) This position is great for shooting home and the pitcher. Third is a little bit of a reach for my 200mm (10D, 300mm equiv.) First is too close and sort of the wrong angle. It takes quick reactions (which I didn't have yesterday) to zoom out and catch the plays at first. I think the visiting team side would be better for the plays at second and third. Next game, I'll have to experiment.

Still I did get some good shots.

Great shots rutt, congrats. Love them all. I think I would have cropped the one with the fence to the right a bit tho. I bet their folks will love these shots.

I like the fence, but I sort of know what you mean. Here is one more from this game. Funny how you I can shoot for weeks and not get anything much, then suddenly get dozens of good shots within an hour. I'm sure light has a lot to do with it, but that's probably not everything.

I love these two. The aperture settings are great. The two subjects look so into what they're doing. I like this kind of photography. I like the fence too...(sorry Lynn!!)
