Hi team, I think this is the right place to post this....

I've recently decided to reomve a gallery from my site, but some of the images were in my popular images gallery. When I bring up just my Popular gallery the images are gone (as they should be), but when I go to my Galleries page, where Popular Images has a section as per the screenshot below, the images in question (highlighted in red) still show to both Visitor and Owner views. I need a way to remove these images please. When you click on them the site takes me to the Popular gallery which doesn't contain the images which is great, but I want to remove the thumbs from the page below...I need your help with this please.

Hi, I'm one of the Support Heroes. I went to your SmugMug account and selected to "hide" your popular section from your homepage. To do this I clicked on the "Homepage Layout" tab and deselected the "Most Popular Photos" option. I then opened the "Hompage Layout" tab again and selected "Most Popular Photos". This refreshed the images in the section and removed the deleted ones for you. Please check out your site now. The unwanted images are gone. I do hope this helps.

Thank you so much Seth...that's done the trick.

Now I just have to wait for the Google caches to clear and to forget that the gallery was there...any idea how long that might take?

    Hi Christian

You're welcome, its my pleasure to help. Wish I could say how long it will take Google to update, but I'm not sure. They're usually pretty quick though. Let us know if we can be of any further assistance.

So now that the popular images are removed I've discovered that using the search term "2009 Aussies Championship" returns a link to the gallery that I removed (for potential legal reasons). I've signed up to a Google Webmaster account and have requested that they remove the link due to the gallery not existing but because the link is smugmug.com/gallery/xxxxxxx they are saying it's not my website and I need to contact the webmaster of that site to get them to remove the content...

Luckily clicking on the link takes you to the smugmug home page (obviously a re-direct that you guys have set up), but the cached page still links to the gallery and the description connect the search result to me.

I would like to get this cleared up as soon as possible, for fear of legal implications....

    Thanks
Write our help desk if the link actually shows to a real gallery with those photos. If it's just a link on google, that now redirects to your homepage, or ours, I'm sorry we can't do anything about that, Google has to de-index it (and they will, over time).

Thank you Andy. Yes, the link does not go to an actual gallery, it re-directs to your homepage. It's just the cached page that's the issue but I'm sure Google will reindex sooner or later. Thank you. Could you delete this thread too? Cheers, Chris
