One of my galleries has disappeared from my Sumgmug site. It was there on Sunday night at around 5:30. Then this morning it was not there. It appears to be missing from at leat 8:30 pm Sunday ioght through this morning. I know this because I posted a photo in a critique forum by linking to my SmugMug photo.

Can anyone at Smugmug tell me why this would happen? The Gallery is called Online Posting Files and my site is kenkphotography.smugmug.com .

Thanks,
Ken

Well, five minutes later and the gallery is back. But the issue still stands. I know the photo was unavailable as a couple of folks who tried to view the image on the critique site said all they got was a red "x".

Thanks

Thanks, Andy

Was it something I had set up wrong, or something on the Smugmug end?

We've no problems with galleries disappearing here - I don't know what happened, that's why, I say, if you notice a gallery 'gone' again, write our help desk immediately.

Andy...I just added a photo to 3 galleries under my portfolio (still setting up my site) and when I refreshed...3 of the 4 are gone.

PLEASE HELP...and for some reason the gallery was in rows of three instead of four.

Thanks man.

Sure we'll look, specifically and exactly, what gallery on your site?

I see this gallery:

You also have a bunch of mistakes in your code. Barb on our team will fix it later today and post here.

Hi :)

Can you check your site now and see if everything is okay? You had a couple of errors in your CSS, one which was blocking the galleries from showing. I fixed that. I also added a bit of CSS that will allow you to see your galleries on your homepage when you are logged in, but your visitors won't see them. Makes it easier to work with your galleries :)

There was also a javascript error. The custom right-click warning was in the wrong place and surrounded with script tags. I moved it to the bottom JS section and removed those tags as they are not needed.

Let me know if you still have problems.

I'm not sure if I did something or not but I can't find the gallery "My SmugMug Site Files (do not delete)". I can add photos to it but I can't see it nor even prove it's present. It has three files and I can use the files in the Easy Customizer so I know it exists.

How can I access this gallery?

Hi,

Click on the Homepage Layout button towards the top of your homepage and choose Default. You are currently hiding all of your galleries. That will show them to you.

If you want to link to your galleries page, but hide them from your visitors on your homepage, see this tutorial, specifically the sections called The Galleries Page I, II and III:

After turning on your galleries/category box like Bard said add this to
your CSS. You will see your whole box on your homepage when logged
in. No one else will see it. This will also give you a quick way to navigate
to any category when logged in.
.notLoggedIn .homepage #galleriesBox,
.notLoggedIn .homepage #categoriesBox,
.notLoggedIn .homepage #featuredBox {
display: none;
}

Brilliant! A Guinness for you both!beer.gif

I was about to respond with, 'OK, how do I then have the galleries not show on the homepage for the visitors but show for me?'
