Desperate for a minor screen change!?!?!?

Hello. I have asked for what I think is a really small change for over two years...maybe longer. Each time I handle a really big order, the fact that this still has not been changed give me the read a$$.

The request, which I have also put on the feature request thread, is to have the file name appear on the prosales file replace button. IOW, after I have clicked on "Replace Photo" and you are now on the "Replace Photo" screen such that the photo is pictured, along with a Browse button and replace button. But no where on that screen does the file name appear. This seems like something so simple to add to have the file name to be replace to appear somewhere on the page. Maybe even be able to hover over the image and see the file name, or right click on and show properties. But as far as I can tell, the only way to check this is to return back to the gallery and repeat the process. VERY frustrating!

Is it just that it is more complicated than I think, or is there something else that could be going on? Surely I am not the only ADHD challenged person out there????

I can't tell you all how many times I have had to go "Back to Gallery" because I forgot what file number I need to replace. Small orders are no big deal, but when I have a person who has dozens or hundreds of images ordered, and I am replacing any large number, it gets very confusing after a little while. Part of the problem is that it takes a moment for the replace screen to pop up, such that I will sometimes click on the replace photo, then swap over to Photoshop to work on the image. And then while the images is uploading, I will swap back to Photoshop to work on another. IOW, I may be clicking to replace one, but working on another.

Some times I use a note pad to write down what I am working on, etc, but this requires taking my hand off the mouse, and really doesn't speed things up.

Can anybody else confirm that this is a problem for them? If so, can you help encourage SM to make this change? I have sent them screen captures with suggested places for a file name, and have received a positive response each time from the helpdesk (gotta love the help desk folks), but I am very frustrated that this simple request has not been addressed.

Thanks for any help!

The page is over due for some enhancements. And it will be done. Other stuff's trumping it, Drew, I'm sorry :(

    It will be done though.

Thanks for the reply Andy. I understand how things get prioritized, etc. It just seems that this is more of a mistake in the original page design. And rather than wait until the page gets a major facelift, just a simple couple of lines of code should fix it in a matter of minutes. I realize it is probably more complicated than that...but surely it can't be that complicated for something that to me is a major over sight.

Would it be really complicated to make this small change?

    Add me to this request
As I've mentioned in the past, I too would GREATLY appreciate this change to the upload screen. I'm spending far too long making sure I've got the right select uploaded.

    Change
It's not just you. It pops up occassionally on the board --- usually driven by event shooters.

And yes -- it's great that Andy seems to be pushing something through...

    +1 from me also.
A minor change that is long overdue for anyone that uses the replace photo option.

    Repalace picture added feature
I have found in replacing images, that it would be helpful if it came up with the original picture name along with the picture on the replacement screen.

So when in an order or when choosing replace image through the gallery the next page shows the image to be replaced and a browse line for you to choose its replacement. I am suggesting that on this page you also include the original image name. I know this would help my work flow and maybe some others as well.

Yeah it's Sorcerers like Cabbey that do this stuff, and the truth is, I'd pinged another sorcerer, NOT Cabbey- about this change - and then Cabbey went and worked it :D
