Anya, part IV: Poppies (18+)

Our final shooting point that day was the famous Antelope Poppies Reserve. Poppies still weren't coveing the hills, but we found a good patch next to my favorite place and spent some time there.

#1: Playing Dorothy:

#2: Implied:

#3: It turned out it was Anya's first time to see the poppies "up close and personal" (at least in such volumes), so no wonder she got a little excited:

#4: Can we call this "poppiscape"? ;-)

497874948_oHzox-L.jpg

#5: This place is notorios for rather strong (and mighty chilly, I must add) winds, so we couldn't miss our chance to play with chiffon:

#6: Running:

#7: Jumping:

#8: Orange Wave:

That's all from this Saturday! Enjoy! C&C welcome!

I'm going through this post and noticing that each image is getting better than the one before it. I get to #5 and I'm thinking that it doesn't get much better than this (love the action - both her's and the fabric) and then I get to #6 and I have to concentrate to get my jaw to close. Then there's #7 and WOW. But, #8 is just so perfect in so many ways!

I don't think #8 is finished yet - I'm thinking a bit of a burn in the foreground is called for as the flowers there tend to draw attention away from this beautiful statement of joy that is the rest of your image.

#8 is, maybe, the best image you have produced to date! Way to go!thumb.gifbowdown.gifclap

Scott, RM - thank you guys! thumb.gif
I admit some more work can be done. I am still a bit overwhelmed with the whole shoot, so may be I should let it simmer for a while and then get back to those special few...

#7 is spectacular. There's so much complexity to that picture. That would be amazing printed big.

#7 and #8 - I cant' figure out which I like more. I like them both! The white bramble on the corner pulls at my eyes, but the actual shots are phenomenal.

Scott basically took the words right out of my mouth. I scrolled through each picture wondering how they could possible get better.
#7 completely blew me away. Perfectly thought out and captured.

I find myself eagerly awaiting your next series. thumb.gif

As already mentioned, Scott said it perfectly. I wasn't sure about the first two but I kept scrolling down and you really really did an excellent job. #7 & 8 are superb, though they all are great. Must be nice to have a wind tunnel so close by where you can creat such wonderful images. Laughing.gif

    #7 - gaWOW!

My only tiny nit (for all three sets) might be to minimise her ribs in pp in some shots - yes, "slender" is currently the paradigm of beauty, but I find the actual shape of the bones a bit distracting from those gorgeous dancer lines she has. One doesn't notice it so much under a leotard, but as a nude, my eye goes right to them.

Very, very VERY small point, however - these are downright gorgeous.

WHen I say "go for it... be ninja!" and she kicks her feet out and jumps and yells full force, I add a couple of hours of shooting. It's so refreshing to work with people who give it their all.

*this* location is no secret: it's a famous Antelope Valley California State Poppies Reserve. The key is timing: they are only in full bloom for 2-3 weeks, and that doesn not happen every year.
This last visit (with Anya) was better than the previous one (with Janey). Hopefully my next one (now with two ladies, Carolena and Helen) will be even better mwink.gif

Nik, have you ever had any issue with the public or law enforcement when you do these out-doors nudes?

Luckily, not thus far. However, I'm always trying to stay very cautios and usually choose very remote or hard to reach locations for this kind of shooting. The biggest issue is typically to control the model and not let her run naked to the car for a forgotten thingie, be it out of the studio (neighbors's wives may not approve;-) or from a roadside ruin (bypassing weekend bikers may get too interested:-).
