I am currently in the process of getting set up to print locally (as well as still using Bay Photo or EZ Print). I have ordered test prints from Bay Photo and would like some advice and ideas on the best way to use the test prints. How do some of you use them? Thank You for you help.

Test prints? You mean a print sent with a file for "calibrating" the display? Don't go there. Its a hack. You have to use an instrument to calibrate and profile the display which is output agnostic.
