Thanks Steve, I have to be honest though, I just leaned out the kitchen window, set the iso at 800 to get a decent shutter speed and blazed away, correct exposure was a fluke :D. There aren't a large variety of birds around here so all I can do is shoot what I see. Now, if I ever hit the US, I have NY for B&H, Boston for whales, Dgrin 11 for landscapes and Florida for egrets, gators, eagles......

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

I agree with the others, you did very well with a tough exposure Seamus. thumb.gif The bird in the photos, is it some type of robin? Thanks for sharing!

Hey Al, it's a blackbird afaik, quite a small bird, I had to crop heavily. I appreciate the feedback. I know they aren't exotic but I have to work with what I have.

Thanks Gus, your 400 5.6 would be ideal for these little ones, I'm still trying to find a shop here or in UK that has one in stock.

thanks Nir, there isn't a huge variety in bird species here so I shoot what I see. The last one was a greedy one though, he couldn't eat all of the worms and had to drop some. He hasn't heard of the resnick flip :):

I hope the name change didn't confuse too many people but it is embarrassing being mistaken for Shay Stephensrolleyes1.gif , my mediocrity can shine through now mwink.gif

Hey Jeff, I was thinking about changing for a while, it really was confusing for people, as I'm sure you know, shay is short for Seamus, so the change wasn't a problem.
