Hi All,
A few shots from Tuesday's game between Loy Norrix High & Vicksburg High. The game was close with Norrix pulling it out 12 - 11.

All images except #2 & #7 were shot through the fence.

C&C always welcome:D

Nice action shots John, What lens are you using? What is your max F stop? If you can soot wide open yuo might be able to blur that background out some.

That was my suggestion too. Some of them are pretty nice, but if you have a larger aperture you could not only blur the background but gain a higher shutter speed and maybe reduce some of the motion blur.

By the way, number five is my favorite.

    Thanks Robert, Anthony...
I was shooting with my 70-200 f2.8 AFS-VR (Nikkor) mounted on my D300 and experimenting with a 1.4 TC, which put my maximum ap @ 4.0.

I completely agree about the backgrounds and motion blur. As I was shooting outdoors for the first time after being in dungeons, (highschool gyms rolleyes1.gif ), all winter, I am still getting my camera dialed in for daylight...

    Thanks for the comments:D

    HEY HEY
I went to Vicksburg, way back well we dont need to talk about when!!!
I would suggest to go one lens bigger "300 2.8" yeah the 70-200 is a great lens and Im sure you found that out in those gyms your were talking about, BUT the 70-200 isnt a baseball lens and the 300 2.8 will give the the best pics you have ever taken. I have the "CANON" 70-200 2.8 and the 400 2.8. i had the 300 2.8 but sold it for $ for the 400 and would prefer to use the 300 for baseball. thats just MHO I know you arnt going to just go out and buy a 300 cause of this but if you can rent or borrow one and you will fall in love and i promise it will be on your list of lens to buy.
too bad the bulldogs couldnt get just two more runs.

buy the way your photos look great!! thumb.gif
