Wonder why they left, didn't even take the child's soft toy.
Looks like the place has been trashed as well?

    Good shot .... Skippy :D

It was the abandoned teddy bear that prompted me to take the photo. There was something sad about a child's favorite object to be cuddled left behind. Without the teddy bear, I wouldn't have taken the shot.

I could, but it seems to me that this would defeat the purpose. To me, the background is what makes the "abandoned" aspect. The teddy bear isn't the shot. The fact that the teddy bear is one of the things abandoned and left in a ruined house is the shot. The parents won't miss the TV, but the child might wonder about what's happened to a lost friend.

I could shoot it with a larger f/stop so the background isn't as sharp (or change this in Photoshop), but I didn't want viewers to wonder what that junk was in the background.

I love the subject and it's a great idea but I think the lighting could have been more carefully chosen to evoke more mood from the subject. I like it a lot otherwise, though. :D

The TV broke down, the owner got mad about this and trashed the place. The police came to arrest him and they wouldn't let him take his teddy for comfort.

    There you go..

    Nice shot btw thumb.gif
