    If I saw a scene like this my tendency would be to shoot it for B&W, but I actually like the color version better, the soft hues are great.

    Ron, we'd be thinking alike. I saw it and said... "what drama!" I could see the different tonalities and power of that sky, but then the BW processing just kept being flat. Perhaps it needs more contrast, but part of the allure of the color is indeed that soft light and blue-ish tones with the green underneath. I will re-do the BW to process the different parts individually, see what comes up.

    Thanks folks for all the kind words. I am playing a bit more with it... ostensibly for fun :D Here's another BW version with a strong red filter on:

    Not sure it is that different from the previous one although I did try to make it a bit different.
