Your out of focus. The lens is focused more on the wall behind you

Give manual focus a shot and see how it comes out.

    nice attempt but..
i'm very curious what the hell is in that vase and i dont think that was the idea right? :D

I think the photo is not working really well. Its an combination of the selective colouring and the out of focus. Pre focus the camera on something and then put yourself in that position. i think you are on a good track trying out creative ideas. lets see another try.

Maybe you should try to imagine how you want the image to come out. I'm seeing a kitchen, some food game/website on the laptop and kitchenknives in the background (plus some undefined object in the vase rolleyes1.gif ). viewers take these things in when they look at your image and especially when you make a self portrait. Think about what you want to show first, then try to make it work. Post the result and we'll help if its not completely right thumb.gif deal? mwink.gif

Use a tripod. Manually focus on the tripod head with the camera in as close a position to your own face as you can get when you are seated. Without disturbing the focus ring, mount the camera on the tripod and return to your seat. The camera focus will then be set to the correct distance.
