Bellingrath Gardens, Alabama

My wife Cindy and I spent the day in Bellingrath Gardens which is in Southern Alabama. The gardens were owned by a couple who loved gardening and bought the 65 acre property on a recommendation from their family doctor back in the early 30's.
Must be nice to have money like that I guess.
If ever in the area, its well worth the visit and late afternoon is the best time to visit because you sort of have the whole place to yourself. I swear at times it was almost spooky wandering around the gardens because there was only one other couple walking around snapping pictures with their cell phones:scratch I almost felt bad for them with those little cameras.
1. Water Lily reaching for the sunlight out of a pond
2. There were so many different flowers lining the walkways, the smells were heavenly!
3. We didnt place this flower in the waterfall, but once we spotted it there, we snapped a few dozen shots of it!
4. Flocks of Multi-Colored Pansies were blooming every where
5. Purple Orchids in the Hot House
6. Cindy walking out of the shade of a Bamboo Forest
7. Hiding under the Cover of a Leaf

I grew up in South Alabama in the 40's and 50's, and my Mother always talked about Bellingrath Gardens. Unfortunately we never went there.
P.S. I found your gallery, and saw some of the scenes I was looking for. Very well done.
