Black Saturday Bushfire Devastation (Victoria, Australia)

Yesterday I went for a drive up to Flowerdale and Kinglake to have a look at the bushfire damage up there. I took some black and white film shots and also a few DSLR shots. Here are a few of them and more can be seen here.

It was pretty confronting to see the devastation up there - whole streets and areas wiped out and then the odd house spared among the blackened bush.

    That 1st shot is pretty wild!

    Great to see that someone has a sense of humor after losing their house. Hopefully it'll carry them through the rebuild process

    The spirit of most of the people is amazing. Some won't rebuild but most will.

    And when you consider that many lost family and friends in the fires it's amazing. (The revised death toll from the Black Saturday fires is 173 dead).
