Unable to upload images

Every time I try to upload images I get a semi blank screen - no java upload window.

It was ok a while ago and I have checked in FF and IE same issue

Help!

We have found that updating your current installation of java will typically resolve this issue.

Follow these steps to make sure your java is up to date for a PC:

1) Go to http://www.java.com

2) Click on "Do I have Java?" and wait for the test to run.

3) Follow the steps to get the latest version of Java if you need it.

If you have a Mac, it is even easier, just click on the Apple Menu and run the "Software Update" to get the latest version of Java.

Please let us know if you continue to have problems.

Click 'try a different uploader' and choose another one, then go back and choose the simple uploader.

I get the same issue with olde faithfull too and going back to the simple option i get the same blank screen.

Clear your SmugMug cookies, and cache? Close, reopen the browser, try again?

Have you recently changed any security software?

I had already tried the cookies and cache as its the only way you can get back to try another uploader.

Tried it all again in both IE and FF - no joy.

No to anything new on the security side of things in the last 48 hrs. FF upgraded at some point but given the issue is on both broswers..............

And I have now tried it from two different machines and still no luck.

And from two different internet connected networks here in the uk.

What security applications are you running and are they the same on both computers? Is this a work network or one that you own/control?

Hi Doc, the issue appears resolved and nothing changed this end

FYI - I run redundant networks here that go out over two providers on different IP ranges and different security configs (one protected and one not). The two machines one XP and one VISTA were swapped between the two networks to rule out any firewall issue.

As I say nothing has changed this end I can only assume someone thumped something at SM and were good to go again.

OK I am back with this problem again.

Exactly as before, it looks like I am logged out when I try to upload an image?

Hm. Are you sure you have cookies enabled properly? When you login, are you logging in from www.smugmug.com ?

Looks like you have something there;

If I login using www.hdimages.net which routes me back to smugmug to login and then back to www.hdimages.net and then try and upload it fails.

If I login @ hdimages.smugmug.com I have no trouble uploading.

Appears that at some point in the first sign in procedure something goes wrong.
