Here is my first real attempt at some post processing.. whadda ya think?
C&C welcome on both.
Too much post. The white on the top of the head is now blown out. Too much contrast. You've almost lost the eyes.
Your original was a more pleasing shot, but you might try to bring out the eyes a little on it. Try making a loose selection in the eye area and lightening that area up. You didn't say what you are doing the post in, so tools can't be suggested.
The interesting part of the photograph is between the forehead and the chin (if it was a human subject) Bring that out, but don't overpower it with over-processing the rest.
many thanks for the reply.. after i looked at it again in this thread, I know I went way overboard on the post. I'm using Photoscape, and was pretty agressive on the contrast but there were a few things I tried that didn't work out so well. I've got lots of files that i can practice on

thanks again for the tips...
I messed around with the original and came up with this. The dog is softer, the one eye is now part of the image, but the other eye is lost. I forgot to try to add a little sharpening to the white hair above the bridge of the snout, but that could probably be done.

I had no idea what I was going to see when I clicked on the thread title. So cute!
