May 17 & 18 @ Bryce
May 19 & 20 @ Zion
Details to follow - I'm in the process of making reservations etc right now. This trip will require you to make a decision waaaaay in advance, and give us a deposit. Rooms are nearly impossible to get if we wait too long, so this will be a trip that'll be nailed down as far as attendees etc. very very soon!
As to costs estimates for lodging: figure about $40 per person per nght at bryce and $75 per person per night at zion.
Air Travel: in / out of Las Vegas is best.
Marc Muench will be our landscape pro in attendance.
Many more details to follow as they get decided.
EDIT: rooms will have baths/shower & loo
EDIT: we have 35 people signed up so far - room for 25 more!
EDIT: As of 1/2/06 - 46 out of 60 spots taken.
EDIT: see below, there's a whole "post-shootout" trip as well :deal
Who's in??
Last year's shootout at Yosemite was a huge success. We're fortunate once again this time to have our landscape pro-in-residence, marc muench :clap :clap

so, if you are a single, and will be sharing, your estimated room costs for the entire four nights will be: $245. Your deposit that you send me should cover everything regarding rooms, since you'll be paired with another dgrinner who has paid the same amount.
if you are a couple, you'll have a room to yourself, and so the $245 deposit only covers HALF of the total charges, and you'll have an estimated equal amount due on checkout.

Ya'll should plan on contributing to the cost of car transportation. I don't know the exact details yet - but essentially, I'm going to ensure that enough of you rent or have cars so that we can all transport ourselves around Bryce and Zion as needed.
As a passenger, you'll be expected to contribute.
Thanks.
