I agree, I am almost certain it is a female Western Scrub Jay. But, you could name her Feather. :D

I've never seen a western scrub jay, but our Florida Scrub Jays are very blue and have a different bill.

My first impression was a Mockingbird.

Steve, Bob, or feather, pretty birds!!

What is this new lens you are using?

Thanks for the replys, being a newbie here made me a little nervous to post any photos, but trust me, I will get over that! :D

I just got the Nikon 200-400vr that I have wanted for a while to go with my D3. My shots will get better, I was just out messing around for 15 minutes in my back yard when I got these. The bird was in my neighbors yard so I shot a few.

Wait till you see some of the birds I shot in Brazil, I went to Foz de Iguazu to see the falls but the birds were even more spectacular.

I am in the process of getting them up on my website, so I will post a few and then submit the links.

Thanks again for the responce, I look forward to learning alot here!

Yes, definately a Northern Mockingbird. Now that I was home and looked in my book instead of guessing from work I see that now. Oopsy, but at least I gave you a great name, Laughing.gif. Sorry ne_nau.gif

Hey, it helped because I had absolutely no idea. I KNOW NOTHING! (said in a terrible Sgt. Shultz voice)
