There are not may left but I managed to get these two, the sunset light made the pinks look really rich for some reason. They could be better but I was rushing to catch the light. No post processing apart from a slight crop on both. Taken with a 28-135IS USM.

OK and please take this with a grain of salt :D

These are nice, but the composition and perspective are pretty common. IOW, the flower is shot straight on (or straight down), it's centered in the frame and the whole bloom is in the frame. There's nothing that grabs you and makes you want to keep looking at either pic. Something like, close down into the flower. Or, showing just part of the flower from a different perspective than what you'd see just walking by it.

The first one looks sort of blurred or soft to me. Maybe it's due to the color or there may even be some red clipping going on. The second is much sharper (the veins in the petals are more easily seen).

Flowers are tough to shoot, IMO. Not because they don't make a beautiful subject, but because they do ne_nau.gif They are so beautiful, most people shoot them without putting much thought behind it. Plus, flower pics are very common and it's hard to capture them differently than others have.

I love flowers and I love to shoot them clap.gif But, I see very few flower shots that move me (this includes all of my humble attempts :uhoh ).

My message here isn't that you shouldn't shoot flowers, or that your shots are in any way bad. I just hoped to get you thinking about how you can make your flower shots more unique and even more interesting.

I wrote that my critque/opinion should be taken with a grain of salt. I am no flower expert, by any stretch of the imagination. Maybe moving this up will get you more knowledgable input thumb.gif

    what Steve said 15524779-Ti.gif

Because flowers are so eay to shoot they become hard to shoot. Thats because its very hard not to repeat what hasn't been done a few hundred times already.

They are very pretty shots but they look just like most of my flower shots. When I shoot flowers I try for some different angle or comp. Something that will make them stand out a tad.

To be fair I'm going to post some flower pics tonight and you can tell me what's wrong with them. I can promise you that you will have a lot to find wrong with them. :D

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
