San Fransisco

One of the perks of my job is getting to spend some time in some great places. Recently I had a long San Fransisco layover, so I thought I would bring the camera along and do some shooting as well as some scouting for future trips. I doubted I could get any truly wonderful shots on this trip since I was traveling quite light with my D40x and 18-50 Sigma F/2.8 and a gorilla pod. But I went out on a mission nonetheless and had a great day getting to know the city. I ended up with 7 miles worth of walking on the legs that day, and some decent shots along with some great ideas for next time I am in town! Here you go...

#1 - Pier 7, which I had read about here on the forums but had no idea where it was. Turns out I stumbled onto it anyway :D

#2 - Pier 7 once again looking back toward downtown and Transamerica Pyramid. I liked the couple walking leisurely walking away and just enjoying the morning as I was.

#3 - One more from Pier 7, lots of opportunities here! Some locals were already out and getting some fresh fish for the day.

#4 - I wonder if the bird wishes he could make contrails sometimes.

#5 - Don't get much of a chance to see many blooming flowers just yet in Colorado!

#6 - I tried several different shots and crops of this photo. I really liked the older boats!

#7 - Tools of the trade.

#8 - And I thought Colorado had some steep hills :D

#9 - Chinatown goodies.

#10 - Fish anyone?

#11 - Chinatown offers no shortage of shooting opportunities. I look forward to getting back and exploring more!

#12 - Waiting for the train.

Wow! Thanks for the kudos everyone! I really appreciate it!

Shaye - the boats were on Fisherman's Wharf near the big 'Fisherman's Wharf' sign. Walk behind the restaurants on the northwest side of the street and you should be good to go. The intersection is Taylor & Jefferson Street if that helps.

I tried to get some shots that weren't typical San Fransisco, but will definitely be back to try my hand at the bridge. I actually walked right past Lombard street and didn't even try eek7.gif:D

    Cheers!

When one is born and lives here, sometimes one forgets how beautiful the city really is. Thank you very much for the reminder with these great shots, well done.clap.gif
