On a recent trip to Vegas, found these guys hanging out watching the traffic.
North of Las Vegas about 100 miles on Hwy 95. Taken with my D50 with 300 f4, I wanted to switch it to my D300 but I was afraid they would take off, but they were very cooperative.

yes it was quite a surprise to see them and so many. I have seen smaller groups before. They look to be in fine condition too. My wife wanted to get them all in the mini van to take home.

You should hear them at night -- they literally make a "YEE-HAW" sound. I shared a basin with a bunch of burros in Death Valley last year. They'd be yee-hawing about once an hour all night long.
