Secret Garden and birders
This one below, I just did it. It would set off the gamut warning, but not the proof view warning for CMYK????? I did use a gradient fog layer to try to get the dreamy effect back, will see if I did too much, I used hard light blending, a book I like, the author, Ben Wilmore, he just loves that filter, forget why, but I like it, too. Then I erased all that from the bird, a bit from the moss, a bit from a green area. What does anyone who might wander this way think?
Oh, the old people, , they were watching the birds have sex.
Since the birders are in a rookery, who knows, may just be birds of a different color, would anyone think I would really need a release. They are not of the white lens type birder. Must be birds............................g
OK, that may not have been a tern, but are you all going to try to tell me these are not birds? Make my day.:wink
After all is said and done, it is the sweet tea.

I will bump your thread as soon as Harry, or someone, preferably lots of people, see my thread. I love my birders.
We are all sooooooooooooo good.

Seamus.
This is all natural. The moss is framing on the right, the green on the left. The trick is to get the "color" intensities right so as not to over ride with anything. I wanted the Egret first and fwd.
A month or so ago, I am not sure I would have done as well as this. I have a shhh, don't tell harry, a night heron, i am saving for a bit, tonight maybe. after i worked it up, i discovered that i had worked it up before. i don't think i ever showed it here. the one i worked up today was an improvement over the one just about a month ago.
thanks so much for stopping and commenting, seamus. I knew this was special once I worked on it.........so scary to wonder what else is on my hard drive.

As far as missing your "shot of shots", many people have that same concern. Especially after gaining more post processing knowledge. You just know you can make some of those old pics sparkle, applying all that good stuff you've learned. That's why you should never delete shots that are in focus. Even if you wind up burning them to CD or DVD to archive them. They will always be there if you need them :

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
I will fix it, but I took some stuff today: at the place right over here, egrets. That is what is there: egrets, lots of them.
So I need to fix this, but I also want to upload today's stuff. Thanks for pointing it out Harry. I have never had colors change like that before, but dust spots will show up a day after I post it. Then Andy or someone swooops down and catches them.
I wonder why it takes time, and I do wonder where the magenta came from. If he were a show bird, that would be a big time flaw, purple/magenta feathers would not be allowed.

Your wonderful shot makes me want to go back thru all the shots clogging up my hard drive and that ever growing pile of cd's to see if there is a treausre lurking there. But, I know there are no shots as beautiful as that. Your second shot (the birders) is great also. Maybe the one lady is all choked up because she does not have a camera.
