It was an unusual sight north of Scottsdale last night. We had a little police action and the helicopter circled the area for several minutes. I grabbed the camera and took a couple shots before they left.
This is an 102 sec exposure and the only one where the lights stayed in the frame.
Thanks for looking!

Was the exposure based upon the camera's decision relative to the overall lighting? Or did you try something different?

Send that one to the local newspaper, I'll bet they'd print it.

Thank you David!
Thank you DaddyO! Star trails are on my list to try out soon.
Thank you Richard! Love the UFO smilie!
Thank you aj! I just set the camera to bulb and held the button down until I thought the helicopter had circle enough times for the photo to be interesting. I wish I had been able to set up properly, but I didn't have time.
Thanks Eia! Yes I used a tripod. Fortunately I had been doing some macro work earlier and the camera was still attached!
Thank you Joel! I thought about doing that. Maybe I'll submit it to the little paper in Cave Creek/Carefree.
Thanks Roadkill!
Thanks Aaron! AZCentral - That's a good idea.
Thanks Jeff!
Thank you Steve!

Thank you Chile Chef!
BTW, how much trouble is that Sumitomo plant in NE Phoenix giving you lately?!
That chopper was probably looking for people cheating on the slot machines at Ft. McDowell, ayy?!
But finally, you had fun with that image. I had fun seeing it!

Christina this is a fantastic shot :ivar
You have a really special shot here you know, the light pattern you have captured makes the pilot look good hey
He's flying quite evenly by the light trails his Chopper has left,
no sharp highs and lows.
That is an awesome night time trail light sequence

:skippy Everyone has the right to be stupid, but some people just abuse the privilege :dgrin
Thank you Steve-o! I actually live in Cave Creek and not Scottsdale, but most people know Scottsdale. The sumitomo plants are good, no problems so far. I would also miss the Verde Valley!
Thank you Skippy!!! I lucked out on this shot, the others the pilot didn't stay in the frame.
With all the rain Arizona got this past winter, I bet that Bartlett and Horseshoe lakes are just bursting at the seams.
Oh, if you get the chance, and if they're still out, PUH-LEEEZE post some WILDFLOWER shots. I promise to say really nice things about you!
