i'm in london this week, and i've had the great pleasure to shoot with my good friends, gubbs and luben solev, both dgrinners and both excellent photographers
last night gubbs and i met up just outside the central part of the city, near greenwich (trivia: this is where greenwich mean time is calculated, at the royal naval observatory)..... we were hoping to get some good night shots of the clipper ship cutty sark - mostly we had foul weather though, but, the tapas was excellent :food :food :food
the starters
the mains
after dinner the rain (you hush up, harry! :humungus) stopped, and we did a bit of shooting - i'm still working on this one but it's canary wharf, from across the river thames.
tonight, luben got us permission to shoot in the british museum main court, a lovely atrium inside a greco-roman building - quite lovely in fact but first, it was time to :eat and tonight, we chose thai food, some lovely red and green curries, some sticky rice, etc etc. :lust :lust
some winged rats, atop the skylights of the courtyard
a long exposure, that's me and my shadow going up the stairs :roll
and here's our man luben, he's got his eye on something...
all in all a lovely time. we were all lamenting the weather, but we reminded ourselves that photography's a lot like fishing - you have to be out on the lake in order to be able to catch the big one! hoping the weather will improve for tomorrow and saturday, i'm looking forward to some street shooting tomorrow, and a castle at dawn on saturday.
enjoy (dining and shooting) photography,

You're making me hungry! Like the Canary Wharf shot, and the shadow on the steps, and the gulls in quadrants is neat too.

I leave 'em in the fridge for a few days & eat 'em cold to get the flavour stronger.
