When I create a watermark in ps elements 6.0 I select transparent but the background is white when uploaded to my smugmug gallery. Any suggestions?
I tried 6 different times and get the same white banner. Background Contents is set to Transparent in ps editor and saved for web. png 24 and also transparent checked on this screen......

Here is a link for an example----http://mccoyphotography.smugmug.com/gallery/7390120_dsQMD/1/498393633_znJJX/Medium

Thanks, Russ

Are you saving the image as a PNG file and uploading the PNG? JPEGs do not support transparency.

Indeed, as jfriend says, your file is not transparent.

make your watermark on a transparent background, no color behind it. Crop out all that extra space, too. Then save it as a transparent png.

Thanks Guys, I thought maybe I was missing something else. I started a new file in ps elements 6 with Back Ground transparent and saved for web, then saved as png24, transparent. I'll try again tonight. Thanks, Russ headscratch.gif

Do NOT save for Web. That is probably saving as a JPEG and losing the transparency. Once it's gone, you can't get it back. From the original image in Elements, just use Save As PNG.
