words with pictures can make the word make the pictures make the words say different things. words tell the story. or is it every picture?

jesus used to say a lot of words, and then a lot of them got written down and published in what is now called the bible. jesus was a man of great conviction, I learned a lot about him on TV on his birthday on the Discovery Channel. Beats Orange County Choppers for substance for me.

but anyway you can learn a lot about jesus on TV, though I'm not sure if he gets digital cable.

jesus was a jewish man, which is ironic because he became the first christian. he was also a prophet, which means he knew things non prophets didn't know. he also was very unselfish and shared his food with his friends.

1729939-O.jpgtheres a man on TV called Benny Hinn who talks a lot about jesus. he claims he can even heal people through jesus, but I think Benny Hinn is a liar and is using jesus to make money and buy nice suits. Benny Hinn is "in" for a big surprise if you ask me.

I also thought the Colts would win in New England last January, so I guess I'm not much of a prophet, but neither is Peyton Manning.

LMAO, you really don't know too much do you. Jesus was crucified by the Jews not the Italians. The vatican is built on the spot where St. Peter was crucified.

And not that ironic since the Old testament is shared by both religions

Actually it was the Romans who did the actual execution, egged on by the corrupt Jewish religious leaders of the day.

I'll try to only make a few comments...
and then I'll bow out (hopefully, gracefully)...

Jesus himself said this about why he came-

"For God so loved the world the he GAVE his only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but , but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He that believes on Him is not condemned: but he that believes not is condemned already, because he has not believed on the name of the only begotten Son of God."

    and this -

"Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do my commandments."

    and this-

"I am the good shepherd, and I know my sheep, and am known of mine. As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep. And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd. therefore does my Father love me, because-

I LAY DOWN MY LIFE, that I MAY TAKE IT UP AGAIN. NO MAN TAKES IT AWAY FROM ME, BUT I LAY IT DOWN MYSELF. I HAVE THE POWER TO LAY IT DOWN, AND I HAVE THE POWER TO TAKE IT AGAIN.

This commandment have I received of my Father." (emphasis-not yelling, by me)

Now, simply put, it was the plan of God that His Son would die-period. SOMEONE had to die for payment of sin, and Jesus Christ is the only one who met the qualifications.

Certainly no mere mortal-Jew or Roman could actually 'kill' the Son of God so that debate is really unimportant. What is important is what you or I will do with "this Jesus"?

    Take care-and God Bless

One of the things that I never understood about religion. What kind of court kills person A for the crime of person B and calls that justice?

But any rate, Shay is right. The Romans did the execution, not the Jews, but mostly at the "request" of the Jews. This was at a time when the land was under Roman occupation and (some degree of) control. The reason the Vatican is in Rome is mostly due to Constantine, if memory serves, and has much military and political history behind it. Its the reason why its the Holy Roman Catholic Church. I do not know the history behind the Greek Orthodox Church and its relationship to the Catholics through history, but it would be an interesting read I'm sure.

    Ex-catholic, non-believer, and proud of it. :)
