I wish it were a little larger - is this the same as stitching?

I always have trouble making my pics the right "size" (kbs) for posts. Photoshop calls it "photomerge" there is a setting on my camera called "stitching" where the camera is supposed to stitch pics together, but I've never been able to figure it out.

    Hi Dan,

I'd like to see a larger shot too. Death Valley is such a wonder.
The way I work it is thusly:
Finish with photo processing and save. Flatten image. Then I will go to Image --> Resize. From here, pick a size (ie. 600 on longest side) and the other attribute will change keeping the aspect ratio the same. For displaying on the web, 72dpi is just fine. Then there is a matter of sharpening a resized photo. I just apply a little USM then save as a jpg. The max size here is 117K so let that be your guide to what level of compression you use (probably about 6 or 7 for 117K @ 600 pixels).
There are many here with better defined work flows, but this should get you started 'cause I'd like to see a bigger picture of your pano.

Thanks and hope this is understandable,
    Chris

A picture is but words to the eyes.
    Comments are always welcome.

I have been using a freeware from autostitch.net that is unbelievably easy to use. It even let me change pixel settings in its edit mode. You may want to try it.

I honestly believe you did a nice job merging (which is a hard thing to do - I know!), but unless you post a bigger image, it might as well be a crop from a single cellphone picture..ne_nau.gif
Please, let us share your excitment and post smth like 800x3200..clap.gif

I guess I'm a Photoshop failure...no matter what I do, I can't get it right, it's always too big to post. If anyone interested, I can email it full sized and you can try it. (it's 559 kb) I just tried one of you guys, but your emailed not accesable by me. (mine is danblood@cox.net)
    Let me know-
    Thanks-

Dang, you can still hardly see the jeep on the left hand side. The difference in size between the L and the O is enormous.

Look even closer on the right. See the guy on the rock? My friend Randy and owner of the truck.
