Head Shots

Did my first portrait shoot with a friend who wanted some head shots. One of those situations where you TRY to tell someone "I'm not the guy for this" but they insist.

I don't have any backdrops, and only a two flash (one on camera, one with umbrella) for lighting. But I did my best with what I had and my nascent portrait skills.

These are not yet post processed...straight out of the camera jpg's (shot RAW + JPG)...using the Canon 50 and 85mm f1.8's and the Tamron 28-75 f2.8

I just looked at the gallery, and there are several shots in the galllery I like a lot better than these three.

Especially the crop in the 2nd and 3rd pic is something that is done a lot more to my liking in other shots in your gallery. Good job tho on the light given your limited 'hardware' [on cam flash and one external]

    XO,.

I like tight crops...but didn't ONLY do them that way. I was also dealing with "lack of background" so I couldn't pull too far away from the subject.

    XO,.
Thanks. I have a wedding I'm shooting tomorrow, so it was good to get SOME experience with this setup.

    You've done great!
I glanced through your gallery and of all, my favorit is IMG_2176. By the way, the girl is very cute, nice shots of her too! clap.gif
