About a month ago, I travelled with my ladyfriend's Boy Scout Troop to a Civil War period Rendezvous recreation. I/we had a wonderful time, but the weather was threatening so I took my Kodak PS 3MP instead of my better cameras.

The weather did clear enough that I kinda wish I had taken more and better equipment, but the Kodak was better than nothing, and sometimes pretty darned good.

Pretty wild "canon night shot" !

I've worked with Boy Scouts for a number of years. Looks like a fun event.

I knew, of course, that trees and plants had roots, stems, bark, branches and foliage that reached up toward the light. But I was coming to realize that the real magician was light itself.

The Kodak had an interesting quality. The shutter stayed open long enough that the shock wave of the muzzle blast "thumped" me pretty strongly, and you see that as a sinus-shaped "bump" in the streaks of the blast.

The crew was shooting steel wool out the canon in order to give the colorful blast. What you see is over 300 feet of blast.

It was awesome to behold and experience!

    Thanks,
