150mm, nice balance between the 100/105 and the 180/200mm macro lenses. Just right for distance. Looks like one very sharp beast

H: Very fine images. I like the different lighting angles. Just tipping the camera can yield a very different look (flash).
J: Ain't that the truth!

* To start the lens is very well constructed.
Very solid. Flat black finish so no shiny surface (this is a good thing)
This thing feels as solidly bilt as my canon L lens.
*Plus it comes with a colar I think the one from canon is like $100 bucks for a colar (whatever canon)rofl
comes with lens hood that works well screw on type
and comes with a really really nice case 1000 times better than my canon L case.
*OK now the AF th AF is good not great, I think it is very good for a (macro) lens.
But no where as fast a my canon f4 L. Not that anyone would expect it to be as it is a macro lens. When your in low light it will hunt on ya thats for sure. That being said we all know most shoot maco using manual focus probly 80% of the time anyway. But I have found you can use AF with this lens for macro. (unlike most other lenses)
From what I hear the AF is the best (macro ) AF out there. But I must admit i cant confurm this beacuse I don't own any other macro lenses.
In good light this thing is pretty fast I must say and does have HSM. Not quite as fast as my f4 but darn good I would say. So if your going to take some people shots it would do great I think. "In good light"
*Now for sharpness judging from the photos I think this is a very sharp lens. As Iv heard with all the reports on this lens. Now I havent set up and done a controled test as of yet but I will iV been very busy with work and have not had the time.
but this thing seems very sharp.
All in all I'm very happy with this lens. I will some time in the near feature get you guys a controled test and and a full review.
But for now the Sigma 150 2.8 macro
is a great lens. If you have the cash order this thing ASAP
I got mine form Delta International for$ 525.
