This is a duck I spotted in the lake in Copenhagen.
The water was very brown, so I converted to B&W.

Then there was a mamma swan just comming home from a swim.

She spent a long time cleaning her feathers and drying off.

Good move on the B&W conversion. thumb.gif Love the colors on the color shots. Its amazing how those birds manage to have something obstructing them when you take a pic. I think they must have some warning system that alerts them to a camera. Once it goes off they all run to a spot that makes sure you don't get a clear shot of them. :D

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

    eggs in the nest
Wow, that's neat seeing the eggs like that. I'm surprised they were unprotected for so long!

Yeah, the eggs were what I saw first. Then the swan came swimming home. She must have been out getting some food. When she stepped up on the nest the first thing she did was turn one of the eggs over. I raised my camera quick for the shot, but it came out all blurry. In my haste I must have clicked before I stopped moving. :cry

    Thanks for stopping in Dee.

    Thanks Harry,

Thanks for the kind words. I had a hard time focusing on that swan through the reeds. Naturally she had her nest with eggs in a protected spot. But, it's a shame how the flotsom and jetsom collect against the nest. I hope the trash doesn't end up hurting some birds.

Nice seriesthumb.gif I like the b&w duck, it's interesting in that you can see his feet so you can't really tell he's standing in water yet you can still see his reflection.

I think he is walking on water? beautiful swan. When I am excited I always blur the photo. I can have on an IS lens, or a wide angle lens, all things that should not blur. The person/bird can be perfectly still. No question, I got the shot. I always blur it.

    Nice shooting, Snappy.
