I am so grateful to have had the chance to see the grand canyon for myself. My attempt at an early sunrise over Hopi Point will never do justice to the grandeur of this majestic place. I wanted to try to capture the different colors. Boy, was it cold up there I was shaking and just trying to capture my breath - not because of the cold, but because of the enormity of it all.....

I can't believe it's still cold up there.
I was trapped up there for a couple of days in a snow storm last winter.
This is what it looked like when I finally ventured out of the hotel:
BRRRR!
great images, love the timing.
Thanx Fred...... I arrived very late Saturday night at the Grand Canyon in the middle of a snowstorm. All tours were cancelled. I was afraid that I was not going to get a chance to see the canyon. Woke up at 5:00 Easter Morning sky was clear and most of the 1-2 inches of snow that fell the previously day were gone. Did not seem very crowded to me. On the sunrise bus tour there were only about 10 people.

I especially enjoy the lighting and composition in the third image.
Well done.
