From the SF Bay Area...
Here is a collection of images I've taken around the Bay Area in the past couple of weeks.
1. Song sparrow singing its song
2. Female Red-winged Blackbird
3. Western Scrub-Jay
4. Brewer's Blackbird
5. Male Western Bluebird - This shot underwent some surgery.
The bird was standing on a pipe covered in bird droppings, which I replaced with a nearby post which was much cleaner.
6. Female Western Bluebird - Same as the previous bird. These birds only liked to stand on the filthy pipe...
7. Lesser Yellowlegs - The bird on the right was doing some sort of display dance, making short jumps around the other bird.
8. Pie-billed Grebe
9. Eared Grebes
10. Horned Grebe - Heavy crop. I saw it only once and was quite far from the shore.
11. Male Anna's Hummingbird - The hummers seem to like these flowers. You can more or less predictably find them coming down for some nectar every five minutes, especially when it gets warmer after 9am.
12. Immature Red-tailed Hawk taking off
13. Snowy Egret
Thanks for looking.
Cheers,

Did you manage to get in any sleep time?
Anyway, awesome set of images: great exposure, background, subjects, action (#7), etc.
Once you clone out that dust-bunny in #8 you would've posted one perfect set.
Thank you, Russ!
Yes, it's a very nice time of the year around here. I try to go out on weekends, but this weekend I was home alone with my 20-month old son so I picked the strolled and out we went both days.
Regarding the dust-bunny, I think it's actually a bug since I checked shots right before and after that one and the blob wasn't there. But you are right and I should have cloned it out before posting...I'll do it tonight and update the post.

Thanks Ben!
I have noticed a few more grebes coming around lately. I guess that I need to take some time for more fun shots.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
