PSE7 vs CS4 for raw editing

I have been having many many problems with my computer/PSE7 while editing raw files my entire system locks up. GRRrrrrrr... I was wondering if CS4 would run smoother and cause less problems... Also, what is the biggest difference you've seen in upgrading from the PSE software to the professional versions... any input would be great as this program is not cheap Thank you!!!
