Would this make you buy my services?

Thinking of hanging this 16x20, and another like it with a Corvette, in targetted businesses as a means of driving traffic and sales of my photography services. If you're a car nut with a nice ride, would something like this tempt you? Thanks for any comments, critiques, suggestions, etc.

I think a shot of the front end would be better than the rear.

I think so. But what might be nice is a triptych with complimentary views (left, head, right).

Like this? Thanks for the feedback. I also plan to (hopefully) leave 4x6 prints as business cards, that are duplicates of these, for people to take home.

Also interesting idea on the three-shot collage. I'll think about that. Kinda hinges on whether I can get a nice sized pre-fabbed frame, in order to keep costs down. Maybe a 12x36 collage.

    great images Bill

(I'm not in love with the headline at the top of the image)

where would you display these - what type of business?

If the subject matter is too limited for many, where you hang them may not offer much boost. ne_nau.gif

Places that cater to the car crowd. Austin has at least three mechanic shops that cater to the performance crowd. (they offer customized and highly precise alignments, suspension work, after-market engine modifications, that type of stuff). Two other places are high-end used car dealerships -- vanity type purchases. :)

Any better advice for the headline?

    car places... thumb.gifthumbthumb.gif

headline: not sure you need it at all but IMHO having it at the top takes away from the image.

I agree with Angelo, the heading isn't quite working for me...

I think it may be the font you're using. The script font just doesn't say "Speed" to me. I would suggest using a bold "blocky" font (such as a Helvetica Bold if you've got a Mac or a bold Arial) and italicize it or even add some motion blur to it.

Another option than doing it yourself would be to check free font sites like dafont.com for a free font that conveys your message a bit better. A word of warning though, there are thousands of fonts there and you may spend more time looking for something useable than you would if you did it yourself.

The photography is excellent, if I was really into my car, that alone would at least catch my eye (I've only got a cheap little Kia Spectra though, so even the motion rig shots probalby wouldn't make it look cool!! rolleyes1.gif ) Just a little more work on the typography could really turn some heads.

    Hope that helps! thumb.gif

Love the pic. As for the design, I suggest you pick up an inexpensive book called the Non-Designer's Design Book by Robin Williams. Someone on Dgrin recommended it. I got it, and it really opened my eyes on principles of design.

You have too many fonts (both type and weight) going on and too many alignments (trying to fill the four corners of the card).

You'd be surprised by how a change in fonts and alignment would do you a world of good.

    But I love the pics.

The photos work.....the size is going to be tooo small......everything I am putting out is a min. of 24x36.....You want the image to reach out and really grab the prospect.

How's this idea? I was told by someone else to involve other car shots as tinier versions, and simplify the text as well. I have to admit, I'm not entirely fond of "Automotive Photography That Moves You" either, but I feel I need something. Like the famous Video Professor's "Buy My Product" pitch.

Bill I think you're moving in the wrong direction. Respectfully, no offense intended but now they look like cheap posters put out by a wheel maker.

You do NOT need the banner, you've just convinced yourself you do.

I have an idea or two if you'd like me to give it a shot for you.
