while over here in london, i've had the great pleasure of shooting with good friends and excellent photographers, gubbs and luben :D i have lots and lots to process and sort out but here are a couple quick irs, processed whilst waiting for my flight in the airport lounge...

shot with infrared-modded canon digital rebel and canon 10-22 ef-s aboard. shot in raw, converted to jpg and in post, curves, selective color black, and luminosity tone of 11% added. these were quick proof edits on my laptop, i'm going to do a proper job on them upon my return.

windsor castle

bodiam castle

shot with a 10-stop nd filter aboard, to smooth the water.

it's been a great trip, i'm looking forward to my color shots, will be processing those on the plane and next week :uhoh .... that is, if i don't pass out from too many cherry ripes :lol3

enjoy (infrared) photography,

    Small World at times...
I lived in Bodiam for 12 years with the castle at the end of my garden. Just sold my house there last year after renting it for a few years...

The Castle grounds changed so much after the storm of 1987 with the loss of 90% of the tree's and which have not been re-planted.

Did you get a chance to enjoy lunch at the Castle Inn?

    Hope you enjoyed your trip...

Andy - I love IR for these types of shots. Really like #2 & #3. I think the processing on #1 just falls a little outside my tastes. On #2 & #3 it seems to me that the horizon slopes to the right. Am I suffering from the perspective distortion or were you leaning? ne_nau.gif

Alright! That's enough there big fella...
    me: "I think I really need a 100 f/2.8 macro"
    wife: "Why?"
    me: "Ask ANDY"

    me: "I think I really need a 10-22"
    wife: "Why?"
    me: "Ask ANDY"

    me: "I think I really need a 16-35"
    wife: "Why?"
    me: "Ask ANDY"

me: "I think I'm going to get my Digital Rebel IR modded"
    wife: "Why"
    me: "LOOK AT THESE PICTURES!!!"
wife: "Oh WOW those are really cool! Sounds like a great idea."

Now my wife is under the spell!

Seriously man-you have one of the best IR techniques and processing I've seen, and it is getting better. Congrats on the series and Godspeed on your return.

    Well, you know very well
I don't like infrared that much (with that exceptional JohnK shot of Sunken Forest I saw a couple of years back) -- but English Castles are ideally suited for IR!

Some of the ones I saw on my trip back in 1985 accompanied with some serious weather problems looked like they were IR (in real life) before I even knew what the term meant! rolleyes1.gifrolleyes1.gifrolleyes1.gif

    Hmmmm.... Stonehenge in IR?

I sure hope you manage to get there on one of your trips, I'd love to see Stonehenge thru Andy's eyes!

Great setthumb.gif I like number 2 also, but I also like the shadow of the trees on the castle with the reflection in the water in number 3.
